BTVFLOC stands for Birmingham Television & Filming Locations and celebrates some of shows and movies that have used the UK’s second city on the small and the big screen over the past 40 years.
The original tour formed part of both the Flatpack Festival and Still Walking Festival in 2012 and the content was inspired by the recent filming in the city for shows such as BBCs Hustle, Survivors, The Line of Duty and most recently Dancing on the Edge. As well as these recent shows the tour also looks at the history of filming in the city of Birmingham and provides a walking tour experience that visits over 10 stops along the route and explains some of the key scenes and shows that were filmed at each location.
Having joined forces with Sindy Campbell from Film Birmingham, tours also took place in June and October 2012, both were very well received by the attendees, with Sindy providing a unique insight into the work of Film Birmingham to attract shows and productions to the city.
With tales of Underworld Gangsters, Soap Queens, Con Artists, Merchant Bankers, Emerging Talent, Game Shows and Aspiring Chefs the 2 hour tour covers a wide variety of shows and movies dating back to the 1970s right through to the current day.
Expanded and updated for 2014 the tour now gives you the opportunity to visit exclusive interior locations used in Line of Duty and Dancing on the Edge that are not normally open to the public. The tour also features new location stops covering BBC daytime shows WPC56 & Doctors, 1970s spy drama The Game and Hollywood movie She Who Brings Gifts.

Hi James, yes all seemed to go OK and had a decent crowd for each of the tours. Had some good feedback so far and most importantly Ben said he thought it went well too.

hi Mark i was at the tour on saturday and i just wanted to say i thought it was really great. I was only going on the enthusiasm of my friends, but was soon really interested in what you were sharing and the way you communicated. My friend felt the same too. Reading your website, I see you are asking about the Leigh Lawson TV series, Kinsey. I recorded both series onto DVDs at the time. I wonder if this might be helpful for you. The precis on the site is very incomplete. For example, Tricia Mabbott did not become Kinsey’s partner until the second series. Thanks for your extremely kind offer, however, I did manage to get a copy of both series a few years ago from a BBC contact. I do have all 12 episodes just not had time to go through each in any detail and post an update on the website, which has now become a bit of an archive as I haven’t organised any tours for a few years.
The post you refer to was my attempt at documenting what I could find out about the series before I managed to get hold of any episodes so I accept that it’s a little inaccurate on the finer details.
